For investors
Making physical function measurable over time.
Kinegrade is an early-stage health technology company exploring how physical-function assessment, reassessment and longitudinal follow-up could become more consistent and useful across healthcare.
Current status: Kinegrade has working product concepts and prototypes, but the company is still validating the underlying problem, initial customer and strongest commercial wedge. We are not currently raising capital.
The thesis
Physical function is measured. What happens afterwards is often less structured.
Healthcare already uses established tests to measure strength, mobility and physical performance.
The hypothesis behind Kinegrade is that the larger problem may not be the absence of measurements, but what happens around them: inconsistent workflows, fragmented documentation and unreliable reassessment over time.
If measurements are not repeated consistently or previous results are difficult to compare, healthcare professionals and organisations may have a weak longitudinal view of how physical function is changing.
Product direction
A workflow around repeated physical-function assessment.
Kinegrade currently exists as a product direction and working prototype. The concept connects assessment, reassessment and longitudinal follow-up rather than treating every measurement as a separate event.
Collect consistently
Support a more structured process for performing and recording established physical-function assessments.
Reassess
Make it easier to see when another measurement is relevant and whether reassessment actually occurs.
Follow change
Connect baseline and repeated measurements into a clearer longitudinal view of physical function.
We are also exploring where selected assessments could eventually be performed remotely with smartphone-guided patient workflows, reducing the need for a clinician to administer every follow-up measurement personally.
Commercial hypothesis
The business model is also being validated.
The working hypothesis is a B2B software business serving healthcare organisations where physical function is assessed repeatedly.
These are hypotheses, not settled commercial facts. Current customer discovery is intended to identify where the problem is sufficiently important, who owns it and who would ultimately pay to solve it.
Investor engagement
Why speak with investors before raising?
Because fundraising should follow evidence, not substitute for it.
Kinegrade is not currently running a financing process. The purpose of speaking with relevant investors now is to pressure-test the company thesis and understand what evidence would make the opportunity investable later.
Challenge the thesis
Test assumptions about customer pain, market structure, healthcare procurement, pricing and scalability.
Reach the right buyers
Introductions to healthcare providers, clinical leaders and decision-makers can accelerate customer discovery substantially.
Define meaningful milestones
Understand what level of customer evidence, pilot traction, product maturity and regulatory clarity should precede a future financing round.
Know each other before the round
A financing process is a poor time to begin every investor relationship from zero.
Investor fit
The people we would particularly like to know.
At this stage, relevance matters considerably more than the size of the cheque.
Particularly relevant
- Health-tech, medtech or digital-health angels and early-stage investors.
- Founders and operators who have sold B2B software into healthcare.
- Investors familiar with long healthcare sales cycles, procurement and evidence requirements.
- People with networks in rehabilitation, older-person care, private healthcare or clinical research.
- Investors comfortable engaging before the strongest commercial wedge has been fully validated.
- People willing to challenge assumptions rather than reinforce them.
Probably too early
- Later-stage investors requiring established recurring revenue.
- Investors focused exclusively on consumer wellness.
- Capital that requires rapid scaling before the customer problem has been validated.
- Investors whose only contribution at this stage would be capital.
Funding readiness
What should be true before raising meaningful external capital?
A future pre-seed round is a possible next financing step, but it should be triggered by evidence rather than a predetermined date.
The exact financing strategy will depend on what customer discovery, prototype testing and early commercial conversations reveal.
Evidence before capital
The milestones we are working toward.
Future use of capital
What external funding would enable.
If customer validation supports the thesis, external capital would primarily accelerate productisation, healthcare validation and early commercial deployment.
Product development
Build the focused software product around validated workflows.
Customer pilots
Evaluate workflow fit and commercial value in real healthcare environments.
Clinical & regulatory work
Establish the evidence, quality and regulatory path required by the eventual intended use.
Commercialisation
Convert validated demand into repeatable pricing, procurement and customer acquisition.
Healthcare integration
Develop the security, data and interoperability capabilities required for broader healthcare deployment.
Core team
Add technical and clinical capability as the product direction becomes sufficiently validated.
Current priorities
What Kinegrade is actually doing now.
The highest-value work at the current stage is learning, narrowing and disproving weak assumptions before committing significant capital.
Customer discovery
Speak with clinicians, healthcare managers and decision-makers about current assessment and reassessment workflows.
Validate the sharpest hypotheses
Determine whether reassessment compliance, longitudinal visibility or another part of the workflow represents a sufficiently painful customer problem.
Use the prototype to make the workflow concrete
Show potential users a tangible product direction while avoiding the mistake of treating prototype enthusiasm as purchasing evidence.
Find a credible first commercial use case
Narrow Kinegrade around the customer, workflow and value proposition that survive real buyer conversations.
Decide whether the evidence warrants pilots and financing
Scale product development and fundraising only once the underlying demand is materially stronger than a concept.
Contact
Start the relationship before the round.
If Kinegrade sits within your area of interest, I am happy to have an early conversation.
That is particularly useful if you invest in health technology, have built or commercialised B2B healthcare software, or have a strong view on what Kinegrade would need to demonstrate before becoming an investable company.
