Kinegrade does not depend on inventing a proprietary universal “muscle health score.”
The concept is being explored around existing measures of strength, mobility and functional performance, with the exact assessment library still to be determined through validation.

One of the central hypotheses behind Kinegrade is that physical function is not always reassessed as consistently as intended.
A patient may have a baseline assessment, but whether the same measure is repeated at the appropriate point — and whether the new result can easily be compared with the original one — can depend heavily on the organisation and workflow.
Kinegrade is exploring whether software can make reassessment easier to schedule, perform and review without creating additional administrative work for clinicians.

Some assessments may not need a clinician beside the patient every time.
Another product direction being explored is guided self-assessment using the patient’s smartphone.
For suitable assessments and care pathways, the patient could be guided through a reassessment remotely while the professional retains visibility of the result and determines what happens next.
The goal would not be to replace professional assessment. It would be to investigate where selected follow-up measurements could be collected with less friction while maintaining an appropriate clinical workflow.
